I. What kind of holiday cabin can I report?

Without a building permit you can erect any holiday cabin that fits the following standards:
- Up to 35 m2 in the basement footprint (roof overhangs are not counted)
- Up to the height specified in MPZP
- Roof pitch up to 45 degrees
- Free-standing, one-story

The phrase "holiday cabin" does not appear in Polish regulations, so we use the name recreational building for individual use. The regulations do not specify a definition of the term "one-story" either, so in this case we rely on Administrative Court rulings. In line with these rulings, a building is considered one-story if it has a single level. The second level is considered usable attic space, i.e. suitable for permanent occupancy. If the attic is non-usable (such as a mezzanine), the cabin is regarded as single-story. This definition thus includes the whole set of cabins up to 35 m2 offered by Drewnolandia.
For the second level, attic usable floor is considered, i.e. such adapted for permanent occupancy. If the attic is non-usable (like antresola), the cabin is deemed to be one-story. This definition thus encompasses the complete range of up to 35 m2 cabins offered by Drewnolandia.

I. When should I file the cabin construction notice?

The filing process should start as soon as the project details are agreed. It should be noted that the filing process in certain cases (for example delays in providing all necessary documents) may be prolonged.

III. What will I need to submit for the notification?

To complete the notification, the following documents may be required:
- Statement of the right to use the property for construction purposes
- Cadastral map from the County Office
- Sketches/ drawings of the cabin.

IV. What does the notification process look like?

We submit the holiday cabin notification to the County Office. The appropriate notification form is available both at the Office itself and on the County Office website. The notification requires specifying the scope and method of construction works and the start date.

V. How long will I wait for permission?

The County Office does not issue any kind of permit for building a holiday cabin. The permission occurs automatically after 21 days from the filing date if the Office has not raised any objection in that period. If the notification does not contain a complete set of required documents, the Office will request their completion. It is crucial to complete this within the deadline indicated by the Office.
