Given the steadily rising costs of electricity and solid fuels (firewood, pellets, coal, eco-pea coal), choosing the optimal heating method for a newly built home is no small challenge. Cheap-to-buy solutions turn out expensive to operate, and vice versa — low-cost use systems stand out with a higher purchase price. There is, however, a compromise here — underfloor heating using heating foils.
All-year cabin with underfloor heating
The advantage of underfloor heating is the even distribution of warmth across the entire usable area of the building. This type of solution works well as the main and sole heat source for the whole house, capable of creating a comfortable temperature. But what exactly is a heating foil? Essentially, it is a thin and flexible electric heater. So thin that it can be successfully placed under floor panels without increasing the total thickness of the floor. It is made from a high-quality PET foil, carbon paste, and copper supply strips, which gives it high durability and resistance to damage.
Advantages of heating with heating foils
Among the numerous benefits of underfloor heating based on heating foils, one of the most important is the favorable price of the entire installation. The solution is many times cheaper than popular heat pumps, yet it features a clearly longer service life. Mounted once, it serves throughout the entire period of use. It also does not require sacrificing space for a boiler room or distribution of the installation — heating foils are a emission-free system, so no furnace, chimney, inspections, or periodic servicing are needed. An additional advantage is the absence of dust generation, which keeps the air around the house impeccably clean.
Ease of operation and cost-effectiveness of heating foils
The system is also maintenance-free — it does not require fuel delivery, temperature control, or cleaning. All operation is done from a wall-mounted controller or via a smartphone app, which also lets you control the temperature when you are away from home. Heating foils are characterized by low energy consumption, so the electricity bill is comparable to using a single air conditioner with heating function, and unlike it — they effectively heat the entire house surface.
