Guide

Working on wooden buildings designed to last a lifetime is a whole set of challenges that the Drewnolandia team faces every day. Choosing the right wood, its processing, wood preservation, and finally preparing the entire structure to meet the individual requirements of the client — this is just one of many steps in the order. One of the most critical moments of the entire project is the transport.

Race against the clock

Pre-assembled elements holiday cabin or garden gazebo must safely cover hundreds of kilometers and stand in the designated place exactly on the agreed day. Any delays are not acceptable - an investor wanting to supervise installation usually takes time off for the date, often arriving at the construction site from another city or even country. Also on our side the tight schedule makes postponements impossible - on the day after finishing one installation, the crew proceeds with the next load or is already at the site of the next project. That is why it is so important for the investor to describe in advance any potential difficulties in reaching the property. Although no conditions scare us, there are certain constraints that cannot be bypassed due to the dimensions of our trucks.

How to prepare for delivery?

So what do we drive? Our fleet consists of Iveco Daily-type light trucks. Each vehicle is 7.5 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 3.5 meters tall. Therefore it requires not only a sufficiently wide driveway (minimum 3 meters!) to the property but also an appropriate access route to the plot itself. This is a challenge especially in Family allotment gardens, where maneuvering in particularly tight and winding alleys is required. The level of difficulty increases when dealing with a larger structure carried on two, and even three vehicles. So you should keep this in mind already at the investment planning stage and clearly outline it in the so-called technical protocol. If in doubt in this regard - it's better to consult with a Drewnolandia employee in advance than run into an insurmountable obstacle on the day of installation of your dream structure. Manual moving of elements over long distances is unfortunately excluded - remember that an average holiday cabin weighs a few tons of solid wood!
