Why not per square meter?
The widely used calculation by the square meter is a less precise tool, which is why, in such a case, there is an averaging of the total sum, usually biased in favor of the manufacturer. This, however, has little to do with the material actually used for a given project. It happens that for smaller structures, such simplified math benefits the investor, unlike larger cabins up to 35 m2. But where does this heuristic come from? The reason is simple: many manufacturers simply cannot accurately specify the total value of the material consumed and labor. It’s therefore hard to correctly calculate the margin in this setup. An incorrectly calculated order value unfortunately brings about unfavorable consequences not only for the manufacturer, who may earn less than originally planned, but most of all for the investor. Here, too, the negative traits associated with the construction industry have their source – lateness and low quality of workmanship. There is quite a bit of truth in this stereotype, because often a manufacturer trying to avoid creating an incorrectly valued structure intentionally delays, and when the build does proceed – uses lower-quality materials than those included in the estimate.
