Garden gazebos continue to enjoy enduring popularity. This is no surprise—the garden gazebo is a practical and decorative solution that naturally enhances the aesthetics of your green space. Typically such structures are built in large gardens, but it’s also an excellent option for a smaller plot.

Garden gazebos serve a variety of purposes depending on the owners’ preferences. Sometimes they’re a space for family gatherings, relaxation after work, parties and barbecues, and soon after they become a home office or a highly utilized spot for gardening tasks. How to choose the right gazebo, what does it cost, and what should you know to buy the perfect solution? We’ll help.

Choose the perfect style for your garden gazebo

Garden gazebos feature diversity that allows you to tailor the building to your needs, taking into account its style, size, shape, and the materials from which it’s made.

Gazebos can be a simple canopy, ideal for family gatherings or outdoor games, or a sheltered space enclosed by lattice, often planted with climbing plants to create a unique atmosphere and provide privacy. They can also be glass-enclosed, fully sheltered, which creates ideal conditions for year-round use, e.g., for gardening tasks.

Which garden gazebo will be best for us? When deciding to build or buy a gazebo, it’s worth guiding your choice by its style, which should match the character of our garden and the architecture of the house. With such harmony, we create a perfect extension of the living spaces’ design, and the overall composition will feel cohesive and harmonious.

Determine the dimensions of your gazebo

A garden gazebo does not have to be built only in large gardens. Small spaces can also feature a gazebo, especially since you don’t need a permit for pavilions up to 35m2, and if they are standalone buildings, you don’t even need to notify supervisory authorities.

Small structures usually don’t require an architectural design and can be built based on ready-made frames available in shops. Typically, the height of a gazebo is about 2 m (outside walls), and its overall height is about 3.2 m.

The right material is the foundation of quality

Brick, metal, or wooden gazebo? We have several options, but which will be the optimal solution for us?

Wooden gazebos are among the most popular, and we’ll start with these structures. Since many garden owners also opt for metal, brick, or those made from a combination of materials, we’ll devote considerable attention to those solutions as well. A modern and increasingly trendy option is living gazebos, which we’ll leave for dessert.

Wooden gazebos

All elements of a wooden gazebo are, of course, wooden—light and inexpensive, yet relatively soft and not very durable. If the whole structure is well preserved, even a spruce gazebo can serve us for many years in excellent condition, nicely blending with the surroundings and providing a pleasant, relaxing, and health-promoting space for both relaxation and play.

Here it’s worth remembering that some elements, like the gazebo floor, can be an optional addition to the project.

Metal gazebos

In metal gazebos, aluminum, iron, and steel are the most commonly used materials. They guarantee exceptional durability, style, elegance, and timeless appeal. Metal gazebos are usually richly wrought, creating in the surroundings a rich, interesting, and charming space. They harmonize perfectly with climbing plants that add a romantic vibe.

Yet metal gazebo production technology also allows for simple, aesthetic, and modern structures that emphasize the raw form of the style.

Brick gazebos

This type is not as popular as the two previous ones. Building them is more challenging, and while wooden and metal structures can be assembled by yourself, brick buildings require hiring additional personnel, which greatly increases their cost.

Living gazebos - perfect for kids

Living gazebos are structures formed from rooted, then specially shaped willow branches that are highly malleable, grow quickly, and resist weather conditions. They are particularly recommended for their positive impact on the surroundings and the people inside. They are loved by children.

What else to consider?

In choosing a garden gazebo, the roof is extremely important. While living-roof gazebos form a homogeneous structure, and metal gazebos typically feature stylized metal roofs covered with tiles or polycarbonate, a garden gazebo made of wood can have any roof type. Therefore wood shingles and bituminous roofing, aspen wafer, thatches, and even tiles are commonly used.

Another important aspect is, of course, the shape. Here we have options such as wooden square gazebos, striking hexagonal, and luxuriously presenting octagonal gazebos. Equally important are the gazebo’s placement in the garden and its equipment tailored to our individual needs (e.g., plant shelves or benches).

Finally, think about maintenance of the structure and cladding, possible lighting, and surrounding landscaping.

Only such an approach to choosing a garden gazebo will allow you to maximize its potential!

We invite you to choose our wooden constructions. In addition to gazebos, we also offer holiday cabins and all-year cabins, as well as functional carports or children's houses. You can find details in the Offer tab.
